A Selection of Works By Modern and Contemporary Masters
Following the overwhelming success of their show in Hong Kong last year, Ben Brown and Johnson Chang have once again collaborated on a stimulating exhibition of some of the most popular and high profile contemporary artists of our time.
Ben Brown and his family have been involved in the Hong Kong art market for 40 years so are intimately acquainted with collectors, current trends and the energy of the market itself. This knowledge allows them to create the perfect atmosphere and ambience for the show as well as be in touch with the tastes of their audience. With a genuine desire to fascinate and enthral, the Brown family can truly be said to be patrons of the arts with a thirst to share their enthusiasm with all those around them.
Masterpieces such as Warhol’s Mao is complimented beautifully by the ethereal works of the increasingly collectible Tony Bevan who is soon to be exhibited in Beijing.
Lucio Fontana’s work speaks for itself, announcing loud and clear that he remains one of the greatest post war Italian artists of all time.
Ron Arad sculptured works are alive with vibrancy and purpose, proving that he is more than worthy of the accolade of being held to be one of the greatest living sculptors currently working.
German photographers have never been so popular or collectible and the exhibition reflects this current trend with works by Thomas Ruff, Candida Höfer and Andreas Gursky.
In a nod to developing artists beginning to make a serious impact on the market, Martin Mull’s works will be exhibited in Hong Kong here for the first time. An American artist, Martin Mull’s work reflects the dichotomy of modern society, the struggle between ideology and reality. Toward this end he titled his show at Ben Brown’s gallery in London, ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’ and no art lover looking upon his works can be in any doubt as to why.
Clare Shenstone, an artists who deservedly enjoys world-wide acclaim as one of the greatest living portraitist, is justifiably well represented. This popular artists captures the essence of emotion perfectly, leaving the gaze lingering on her works long after it would naturally have moved on.
The Korean Artist Lee Ufan is a master of minimalism, a welcome respite from what can be an assault on the senses in this busy, dynamic, fast moving art world in which we live.
Ben Brown and Johnson Chang are confident that they are providing a feast for the senses, a treat for the eyes and a very collectible selection of works to charm and thrill all tastes and extravagancies.
